The University of Louisville football team has been recognized for their outstanding performance this season with a total of 15 selections on the 2023 All-ACC Team, as announced by the league. The team had three players named to the first team, one player on the second team, and four players on the third team. Additionally, seven players received honorable mentions.
Running back Jawhar Jordan, center Bryan Hudson, and defensive lineman Ashton Gillotte were all named to the first team. Jordan has had an impressive season, rushing for 1,076 yards and 13 touchdowns, with five 100-yard rushing games. Hudson, the 2023 Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner, played over 780 snaps and did not allow a single sack all season. Gillotte leads the ACC in sacks with 11.0 and ranks fifth with 14.5 tackles for loss.
Wide receiver Jamari Thrash was the lone player to earn second team honors. He had a great season, catching 56 passes for 801 yards and six touchdowns. He had two 100-yard games and a standout performance of 159 yards on four receptions with a score in the win over Indiana.
Quarterback Jack Plummer, who threw for 2,952 yards and 21 touchdowns, was named to the third team. He completed 66.2 percent of his passes and had three 300-yard games and three games with three or more touchdown passes.
Left guard Michael Gonzalez was another standout player, starting all 12 games and paving the way for a 1,000-yard rusher in Jordan. The offensive line played a crucial role in the team’s success, as they averaged 183.5 rushing yards per game and ranked 26th nationally in total offense.
Defensive back Devin Neal, a transfer from Baylor, earned honorable mention honors. He started 11 games at safety and was third on the team in tackles with 62, including a season-high 11 tackles in a win over Virginia. He also ranks third in the ACC in interceptions with four, including two in the win over Notre Dame.
Alongside the 15 selected players, offensive tackles Eric Miller and Willie Tyler, defensive tackle Dez Tell, linebacker T.J. Quinn, and defensive backs Jarvis Brownlee, Quincy Riley, and Cam’Ron Kelly received honorable mention honors.
The Louisville Cardinals will now turn their attention to the ACC title game, where they will face the No. 4 ranked Florida State. This will be the team’s first appearance in the ACC title game, and kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
