The Louisville Cardinals basketball program has been in the toilet ever since Rick Pitino was ran out of town. Since then, and after the NCAA investigation, Pitino has been cleared of any-and-all wrong doo’ing. No pun intended.
The Cards haven’t seen many high points this season and last night’s half-time entertainment was no different for the team.
The half-time entertainment for Senior Night at the Louisville Cardinals vs. Virginia Tech went to the dogs. A frisbee catching dog, albeit, brought his A-Game to the YUM Center but left his D-game on the court. That was one scoop that SCOOP22 doesn’t want to handle. Pass….
In the video (you can see at the end of this post) you’ll hear an audible moan from the crowd as the dog runs back towards his trainer and decides he’s had enough, not unlike many fans in the seats during the game at YUM Center.
But, the dog and his trainer did receive a round of applause for what many would consider the highlight of the night after the Cards seemed to lay down and hand the game off to Tech.
The Cardinals are at a 4-26 record for the year and 2-17 in the ACC. The only wins in ACC play have been against Clemson and Georgie Tech. Games both of those teams are trying to forget.
Unless there is a doggone miracle, the Cards are set to have their first single digit win season since 1941-42.
The last time the program made the big dance was in 2019 and the last time they won a game in the tournament was in 2017. For those of you that struggle with math, that’s 5 years ago.
Let’s hope that next year Kenny Payne can get his team out of the dog house.
