The Wildcats are coming off their best performance of the season in their last match, where they posted a season-high team score of 4745. Fifth-year senior Emmie Sellers had a standout performance, setting new career highs in both smallbore and air rifle. This performance helped Kentucky secure a season-high score in both disciplines, with a 2357 in smallbore and a 2388 in air rifle. Their 4745 aggregate tied for the fifth-highest team score in the nation this season.

Louisville’s suffocating defense was on display throughout the game, forcing 24 turnovers against the Panthers. This marks the 12th time this season that the Cardinals have forced 20 or more turnovers in a single game. Additionally, they limited Duke to only six points in the fourth quarter in their previous win. This season, Louisville has already held their opponents to single-digit quarters 10 times, a significant improvement from the 22 single-digit quarters from the previous season.

Kentucky started their 50th season off in style at the Mean Girls Super 16 Gymnastics Championships in Las Vegas last Friday. The team put up an impressive score of 196.775, finishing second in their quad meet against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 14 Michigan State, and No. 20 Michigan. Fifth-year senior Raena Worley had an exceptional performance, winning her 21st all-around title and setting a new career best on bars with a score of 9.975. Notably, four freshmen also made their NCAA DI gymnastics debut.

Kentucky’s offense received additional contributions from Maddie Scherr with 20 points and Brooklynn Miles with 11. The game began with Kentucky taking an early lead, scoring the first five points through a three-pointer from Scherr and a layup by Petty. However, Vanderbilt quickly turned the tide and went on a 15-point run to establish a 15-5 advantage. Scherr managed to halt the run with a pair of free throws, but Vanderbilt maintained control and ended the opening quarter leading 23-13.

Louisville earned points in volleyball, field hockey, football, and men’s soccer, with all four teams making it to their respective postseasons. The volleyball team secured a strong fifth place with 83 points, while the field hockey team matched the ranking with 65 points. The football team finished 18th with 56 points, and the men’s soccer team ended the season in 17th place with 50 points.

First on the agenda is the Division 1A Game Day competition, in which Kentucky will be competing at 2:19 PM on Friday afternoon. The finals for this competition will take place later that evening, with the winners being announced late into the night.

On Saturday, events will begin at 11 a.m. with the Men’s Pole Vault and Men’s and Women’s Shot Put. Running events for the day will commence at 12 p.m. with the Women’s 60-meter dash semifinals.
