Louisville improved their overall record to 19-2 and their ACC record to 10-1 with the win. They were efficient on offense, hitting .280 and also recorded four aces and six blocks. Charitie Luper contributed eight kills, one ace, and nine digs, while Cara Cresse chipped in with eight kills and two blocks. Anna DeBeer added eight kills, one ace, and one block to the stat sheet. Elena Scott had an outstanding performance as libero, tallying 22 digs, six assists, and an ace. Setter Elle Glock played a vital role with 34 assists, 10 digs, an ace, and a block.

Head Coach Derek Copeland is optimistic about their return to Alabama, stating, “We found that the format and competition last year fit nicely with our fall season goals.” The team will be competing in a head race style event, with Varsity fours, eights, and a novice boat all taking part.

In their last game, Louisville fell to Pitt by a score of 38-21. The Cardinals struggled with turnovers, giving the ball away three times inside the opposition’s 30-yard line. Despite holding a halftime lead of 21-14, they were unable to maintain their momentum and were outscored 24-0 in the second half, resulting in their first loss of the season.

The Cardinals dominated the game, outshooting Boston College 13-6 and having a 3-1 advantage in shots on goal. They also held a 10-4 edge in penalty corners. With this win, Louisville improves to 13-5 for the season and finishes with a 3-3 record in ACC play.

The women’s team finished 13th overall, with Rylee Penn leading the way for the second consecutive meet. Penn completed the 6K course with an impressive time of 20:56.8. Layla Roebke followed closely behind, finishing with a time of 21:27.5. It was also a noteworthy race for Amy Harding-Delooze, who entered the scoring five for the first time this season and clocked a respectable time of 21:31.0. Lexie Paszkiewicz finished in 21:35.0, and Maddie Seaby rounded out the Louisville scorers with a time of 21:49.2.

Despite plenty of hemming and hawing but we’ve all but guaranteed a Georgia/Alabama matchup…

Mark Stoops made it known to everyone that would listen that Kentucky was in a pit and the only way out would be to fight it’s way out.  In the first quarter it looked like Mississippi State took his challenge and were going to literally start a fight (including a cheap shot on JuTahn McClain) but Kentucky let their football send a message and got a season-saving win. 

We’re getting down to the end of the season with plenty on the line for a bunch of teams around the Commonwealth.  As usual if there is a story you want to highlight with one of these programs let us know in the comments.  

During his time in Louisville, Rincon has been an integral part of the team’s success and enjoyed every moment of his four-year tenure. He expressed his fondness for the team and stated that he will miss his colleagues dearly. Rincon also acknowledged the incredible culture that da Silva has built within the team, recognizing that the Louisville team will continue to make a significant impact both nationally and in the ACC.

Donnet and Mayew joined forces in doubles, starting their campaign with a resounding victory in the Round of 16. They defeated Mwendwa Mbithi and Lawrence Sciglitano with a score of 6-1, 4-6, 10-3. However, their journey was cut short in the quarterfinals as they fell to the top-seeded duo in straight sets.
