In a dominant display, the No. 18/16 Louisville women’s basketball team bounced back with an impressive 88-60 victory over Boston College. The Cardinals showed their strength, with Kiki Jefferson leading the charge with a season-high 27 points and a well-rounded stat line including seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal. Jefferson’s 27-point performance is the highest individual scoring output by any Cardinal player this season.

Elif Istanbulluoglu also had a breakout game, recording a career-high 11 points and four rebounds on an efficient 5-for-8 shooting. Olivia Cochran contributed with 10 points, seven rebounds, an assist, and a block. Nina Rickards and Nyla Harris showcased their versatility, making meaningful contributions in multiple areas of the game.

From the beginning, the Cards set the tone by building a 10-4 lead within the first two minutes. Cochran’s strong performance in the first quarter helped Louisville maintain an 18-13 lead going into the second period. The game remained competitive in the second quarter as both teams found their rhythm on offense. Although Boston College threatened to take the lead, the Cardinals held their ground and went into halftime with a 39-31 advantage.

The third quarter proved to be pivotal as Louisville took control of the game. The Cardinals opened the period with a six-point run and never looked back. Jefferson, once again, led the charge with 11 points in the quarter. As a result, Louisville outscored Boston College 22-13 and entered the final frame with a substantial 61-44 lead.

The Cardinals did not let up in the fourth quarter, extending their lead to as much as 30 points. Jefferson continued to shine with seven points in the period, and Istanbulluoglu impressed with six points of her own. Louisville closed out the game by making its final six field goals to secure a resounding 88-60 victory over the Eagles.

Looking ahead, the Cardinals are in the midst of a three-game home stand. Their next challenge comes on Sunday, January 28, as they face off against Pitt. Having already defeated the Panthers 77-44 earlier in the season, Louisville aims to maintain their strong form and secure another victory. The game will take place at 2 p.m. ET and will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
