The Cardinals are currently in the midst of their preseason training and will soon embark on a trip to Cocoa Beach, Florida. During their time there, the team will participate in a scrimmage against Tennessee. This will serve as an important opportunity for the team to evaluate their progress and gauge their competitiveness against another strong program.

During her time at Louisville, DeBoer helped the Cardinals’ second varsity eight to a runner-up finish in the 2011 BIG EAST Championship. She also played a crucial role in Louisville’s three NCAA regional appearances from 2008 to 2010. As a freshman, DeBoer rowed in the second varsity four boat, which finished second in the “C” final at the 2008 NCAA Regional. In her sophomore year, she helped the 2V8 boat to a sixth-place finish in the petite final at the 2009 NCAA Regional.

EARLYSVILLE, Va. – The University of Louisville rowing team concluded its fall season on Sunday at the Rivanna Romp. The team competed against boats from Duke, Minnesota, Navy, North Carolina, and Virginia on the Rivanna Reservoir’s 4,000-meter course.

First up is Ellie Fazio from Horsham, Pennsylvania. Fazio, who attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy, is still undecided on her major. When asked why she chose Louisville, Fazio cited the team culture. She believes in the positive and hardworking atmosphere at Louisville and feels like the team is a true family.

Head Coach Derek Copeland is optimistic about their return to Alabama, stating, “We found that the format and competition last year fit nicely with our fall season goals.” The team will be competing in a head race style event, with Varsity fours, eights, and a novice boat all taking part.
