Hailey Van Lith, the University of Louisville’s guard, has been awarded the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Women’s Player of the Year Midseason Team. Van Lith is one of the thirty players named to the midseason team. She was a preseason candidate for this season.
This recognition is special for Van Lith as she has now been named to the watch list for the third time in two weeks. Last week, the Wooden Award was also thrown her way with a late season addition. Van Lith is now one of the five players to be named on the Wooden, Drysdale, and Naismith midseason lists.
Van Lith has averaging 19.2 points per game and 3.4 assists per game. She is also third on the team averaging 5 rebounds per game. Nationally she ranks 15th in points.
In ACC games this season, Van Lith has shown her remarkable skills, scoring 18 or more points in eight games and 20 or more points in seven games. No one in the ACC has better stats this season. No other player in the conference has higher marks in these categories. She leads the ACC with a .896 free throw percentage.
Louisville Cardinals fans will be on the edge of their seat until the winner of the 2023 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy for Women’s Player of the Year is announced on March 29th, 2023.
