Louisville’s redshirt junior forward Jae’Lyn Withers has announced that he will transfer out of the program and enter the NCAA transfer portal. Withers, who spent four years with the Cardinals and started 64 games, departs with a career average of 7.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
During the 2021-22 season, Withers averaged 8.9 points and 5.3 rebounds for Louisville, who finished with a 4-28 record. Withers was highly recruited in high school, receiving scholarship offers from several schools including Texas A&M, Connecticut, Arizona, Virginia, and Oklahoma, before ultimately choosing Louisville.
He was also selected to the 2021 ACC All-Freshman team, becoming the first Louisville player to be named to the conference All-Freshman team in the program’s seven years in the ACC. Withers joins a growing list of players from Louisville’s roster who have entered the transfer portal.
