In a highly anticipated matchup, the No. 6 Kentucky gymnastics team is gearing up to face off against SEC rival, No. 8 LSU, in a thrilling Friday Night Heights event. The showdown is set to take place at The Pete Maravich Assembly Center, starting at 9 p.m. EST.

The Wildcats are currently basking in the glory of their best season start to date. Last week, they achieved an impressive score of 197.475 against No. 12 Auburn, following their season opener at the Mean Girls Super 16 Gymnastics Championships in Las Vegas, where they posted a solid score of 196.775.

At Auburn, fifth-year senior Raena Worley continued to showcase her talent as she secured her 22nd career all-around win. Meanwhile, freshmen Creslyn Brose and Cecily Rizo proved their worth by clinching their first individual event victories on the floor and vault, respectively. Senior Bailey Bunn also shone bright, capturing her second career beam victory with an impressive score of 9.950 on the apparatus.

Kentucky and LSU last faced each other in regular season competition in 2023, with the Wildcats emerging victorious on Excite Night in Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center. They outscored the Tigers with a total of 197.125-196.575. In the 2023 postseason, UK and LSU crossed paths once again at the SEC Gymnastics Championship night session. The Wildcats secured a fourth-place finish, while the Tigers claimed third.

The PMAC has not been a friendly setting for the Tigers when facing the Wildcats. In 2022, Kentucky pulled off an upset on LSU’s home turf, triumphing with a score of 197.500-197.450.
