In a strong finish to their 2023 season, the Kentucky Volleyball team has secured the No. 10 spot in the final American Volleyball Coaches’ Association top-25 coaches’ poll. With an overall record of 21-8 and a dominant performance in the Southeastern Conference with a 17-1 record, the Wildcats have solidified their standing as a top contender in collegiate volleyball.
Kentucky faced a formidable challenge this season, as they played a total of 16 matches against ranked teams. This impressive feat set a new program record for the most matches against ranked opponents. Their dedication and skill were evident in every game, as they competed against some of the toughest competition in the nation.
Not only did the Wildcats showcase their talent on the court, but they also proved their resilience and determination throughout the season. With a strength of schedule that ranked as the best in the NCAA, Kentucky faced adversity head-on and consistently rose to the occasion.
This No. 10 ranking in the AVCA poll marks the 116th consecutive time that the Wildcats have been featured in the coaches’ association rankings. Since the final rankings of the 2015 season, Kentucky has never dropped out of the top-25, cementing their status as a consistent force in collegiate volleyball. Their journey this season was reflected in their ranking, as they started at No. 10, dipped to as low as No. 23, and ultimately rose to No. 8 at their peak performance.
