The University of Louisville women’s lacrosse program has officially unveiled their schedule for the upcoming 2024 spring season. This year’s schedule will see the Cardinals facing off against familiar opponents from the 2023 season, with the addition of two new opponents, Liberty and Xavier.
The Cardinals will kick off their season with back-to-back games up north, first against Denver and then against Colorado. Last season, Louisville suffered a narrow 4-5 defeat against Denver in their opening game, but they found redemption in a convincing 12-5 victory over No. 25 ranked Colorado.
The team’s first home game will take place on February 16, where they will go head-to-head against Marquette. It is worth noting that Marquette finished the 2023 season ranked No. 20.
In terms of conference play, the Cardinals will face off against Virginia Tech at home on February 25. Following that, they will hit the road to Pittsburgh on March 2 and Cincinnati on March 6, before returning home to face Boston College and Clemson on March 10 and March 16, respectively. Boston College, who ended last season ranked No. 2 overall, will surely be a formidable opponent for the Cardinals.
Louisville will wrap up their conference play with three away games against North Carolina, Syracuse, and Duke on March 23, March 30, and April 12, respectively. They will also have two home matchups against Virginia and Notre Dame on April 6 and April 18.
The highly coveted ACC Tournament will commence on April 21, followed by the Quarterfinals on April 24, Semifinals on April 26, and the ACC Championship game on April 28. Details regarding specific game times and television networks will be revealed at a later date.
Excitement is building for the University of Louisville women’s lacrosse team as they prepare to take on both familiar and new opponents in the 2024 spring season. The Cardinals will undoubtedly bring their relentless spirit and determination as they aim for success in the highly competitive realm of collegiate lacrosse.
