The Lady Cards relied on an impressive defense to get the win over number 1 seed Notre Dame this afternoon. The Irish defeated the Cards twice earlier in the year but this game was different from the get go as the final score was a decisive 64-38. The Lady Cards held the Irish to the fewest points they’ve scored this season and the fewest in an ACC semifinal in history.
Mykasa Robinson scored 10 points, handed out 5 dimes and had a team high 8 rebounds. Van Lith led all scorers with 15 points. Olivia Cochran had a good night in the box score as well with 12 points and 8 boards.
The Cards shot 40% from the field and 75% from the stripe. Louisville also led the rebounding battle 42-30. The Lady Cards played played stifling defense forced the Irish into 22 turnovers.
This win moves the Cardinals into the ACC Tournament Finals for the 4th time in program history. Louisville will face either Duke or Virginia Tech.
The game is set to start at 1pm and will be aired on ESPN.
