Louisville, KY – In a dominant performance, the No. 18 Louisville women’s basketball team cruised to a 74-48 victory over Morehead State on Wednesday afternoon at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals improved to 10-1 this season and showcased their depth with all eleven players getting on the scoreboard.
It was a balanced offensive effort for Louisville, as Olivia Cochran led the way with 16 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Fellow teammate Nyla Harris also had an impressive performance, contributing 16 points and nine rebounds. Kiki Jefferson rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists.

The Cardinals maintained their lead throughout the second half, with a 9-0 run in the final frame extending their advantage to 70-42. Merissah Russell’s five points in the fourth quarter helped seal the victory for Louisville, securing their sixth home win of the season.
Now, the focus shifts to an upcoming showdown against No.17/18 UConn – an old conference rival. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2021 and promises to be an exciting matchup. The Cardinals hit the road for only the third time this season, traveling to Hartford to face UConn on Saturday, December 16, at 12 p.m. ET.
