The 2024 Athlete Activism Summit has announced its location as Louisville, Ky. The event, which will be held from June 27-30, is a partnership between Athlete Ally, adidas, and the University of Louisville.

The summit aims to bring together college athletes, coaches, and administrators from across the country to foster community, gain knowledge, and commit to actions that promote LGBTQI+ inclusion and allyship on their respective campuses.

Athlete Ally staff, along with event co-hosts, will share their strategies for promoting LGBTQI+ inclusion in and through sports. These strategies include education, policy reform, athlete activism, and groundbreaking research.

Athletes and activists will discuss how their presence in the sports world can contribute to LGBTQI+ inclusion. Moreover, there will also be discussions on intersectional activism by QTBIPOC athletes and allies.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in breakouts on various topics, including storytelling and campus advocacy. These sessions will provide a platform for attendees to share their experiences and learn from others.

Further details regarding registration for the summit will be provided at a later date.

The University of Louisville is proud to host the summit, as it holds a perfect score on both Athlete Ally’s Athletic Equality Index and the Campus Pride Index. Furthermore, the City of Louisville has earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index every year since 2015.
