Louisville Volleyball Home Schedule Released

The University of Louisville’s volleyball team recently announced its schedule for the fall of 2023. They will have three matches at the KFC Yum! Center. The team will start the season with a Red & Black Scrimmage on August 19th, followed by the Cardinal Classic featuring Wright State, Troy, and Washington State on August 25-27. Then, the Cardinals will host some of the best names in college volleyball. They will play against Penn State, Kentucky, and Stanford, with the UK and Stanford matches set to be held at the KFC Yum! Center, and Penn State at L&N Arena.

The team’s home Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) slate will begin with Syracuse on September 22nd followed by Boston College on September 24th, both hosted at the L&N Arena. The rival Pittsburgh will visit on October 13th and will be the third match to be held at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cards will host Virginia on October 15th, followed by Florida State on October 27th, and Miami on October 29th.

The team will then host Duke and North Carolina on November 10th and 12th at L&N Arena, followed by the last match of the regular season, which will be held against Georgia Tech on November 22nd at L&N Arena.

As for ticket sales, men’s basketball premium seat holders and women’s basketball courtsiders will have a right of first refusal for the KFC Yum! Center matches. The link to purchase these tickets is https://am.ticketmaster.com/uofl/rofr, beginning on March 28th. On April 10th, the KFC Yum! Center package sales will open to Cardinal season ticket holders, and then to the general public on April 11th. August 1st will mark the renewal deadline.

Last year, the team earned their spot in the Final Four after sweeping Samford and Purdue. In the Sweet 16, they defeated the No. 4 Baylor before defeating No. 3 Oregon in a five-set thriller in the Elite Eight. Eventually, they made their way to their first-ever NCAA Championships match before falling to top-seeded Texas. The Cardinals earned the ACC’s automatic qualifier with a record of 17-1 in the league, with ACC Coach of the Year Dani Busboom Kelly leading them. Claire Chaussee was named ACC Player of the Year, Raquel Lazaro as ACC Setter of the Year, and libero Elena Scott won ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
