Morgan Wallen is a country music sensation whos star is on the rise. After wrapping his 55-city Dangerous Tour on October 8, the East Tennessean surprised fans with news of an upcoming tour that will feature even larger venues and will take him across the globe to connect with his supporters in 2023. One stop on this exciting tour is scheduled for Thursday, April 20, at the KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville, where he will perform alongside ERNEST and Bailey Zimmerman.
A Rising Star
Wallen is a star in the country music world. With a powerful voice and a natural talent for songwriting, he first made a name for himself on the hit TV show The Voice. Originally a member of Usher’s team, he later joined Adam Levine’s team, where he made it to the playoffs before being eliminated.
Undeterred, Wallen signed to Panacea Records and released his debut EP, Stand Alone, in 2015. This was just the beginning of his journey to stardom, however. In 2016, he signed with Big Loud and released his first full-length album, If I Know Me, in 2018. The album quickly climbed to the top of the charts, thanks in large part to hit singles like “Up Down” (featuring Florida Georgia Line), “Whiskey Glasses”, and “Chasin’ You”. It reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, cementing Wallen’s status as one of the hottest new talents in country music.
Morgan Wallen‘s second album, Dangerous: The Double Album, was released in January 2021, and it quickly became a sensation. In fact, it made history by becoming the only country album in the 64-year history of the Billboard 200 to spend its first seven weeks at No. 1. It stayed at the top spot for a total of ten weeks, a feat that hadn’t been achieved since Whitney Houston’s 1987 album, Whitney. The album features a number of hit singles, including “More Than My Hometown”, “7 Summers”, and “Wasted on You”, which all reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts.
