The Cardinals had an impressive showing in multiple events, sweeping their opponents in several disciplines. The night was filled with impressive performances, as junior Makenzie Wilson and fifth-year senior Raena Worley both achieved perfect scores of 10.000. These were the first perfect scores recorded by Kentucky gymnasts since Jenny Hansen competed for the team in the mid-1990s. What made these scores even more extraordinary was that they were the first ever perfect scores recorded in Rupp Arena.

Antonio Reeves and Tre Mitchell, experienced veterans on the team, are well aware of the challenges that await the Cats in hostile environments like Bud Walton Arena. Mitchell understands that every game against Kentucky is a big one for the opposing fans.

This game marked Russell’s second consecutive game with 20 points, following her stellar performance against Missouri earlier in the week. Amiya Jenkins also contributed with 11 points for the Cats, while Ajae Petty had a solid game on the boards, grabbing a total of 16 rebounds despite only scoring six points.

Antonio Reeves also contributed 15 points for Kentucky, although he struggled with his shooting, making just 6 of 18 attempts from the floor. Tre Mitchell provided additional support with 13 points and five rebounds. However, Kentucky’s final score of 62 points was the lowest they have recorded all season.
