Chrislyn Carr is a 5-foot-5 graduate student guard from Davenport, Iowa, who previously played for Syracuse before transferring to Louisville. During the 2022-2023 season, she proved to be a vital player for the Cardinals, showcasing her skills on both ends of the court.
Carr’s standout performance in the ACC Tournament earned her a spot on the ACC First Team All-Tournament. In the finals against No. 3 Virginia Tech, she scored a season-high 27 points, the second-most points scored by a Louisville Cardinal in the ACC Tournament in school history. She also had a strong showing in the quarterfinals against Wake Forest, tallying 16 points and hitting two three-pointers.
Throughout the season, Carr consistently demonstrated her three-point shooting prowess, shooting 50% or better from beyond the arc in 17 games. In a critical overtime road game against #10 Notre Dame, she scored 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting, including 3-for-4 from three-point range. In a home win against Clemson, she contributed 12 points, including two three-pointers.
Carr also played a critical role in several comeback victories for the Cardinals. In a win over Virginia, she scored 12 of her 14 points in the fourth quarter. Against #11/14 North Carolina, she led the team with 17 points, hitting five three-pointers, and tied a season high for threes.
In addition to her offensive contributions, Carr also proved to be a force on defense. In a road win over Syracuse, she had a season-high eight assists and five steals. In a home win over Boston College, she tied a season high with four steals.
Overall, Carr’s impressive season landed her a spot on the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List, recognizing her as one of the top point guards in women’s college basketball.
