Kentucky came into the game desperately needing to regain some of the lost momentum.  South Carolina is a bad football team with a dorky coach but once again the Wildcats beat themselves. Poorly coached teams find ways to lose football games and once again Kentucky did just that. 

The highly anticipated ACC Football Championship Game will kick off at 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 2nd, and will be televised on ABC. The game will take place at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. This year marks the 14th time in the last 15 years that the game will be held in primetime.

With this win, the Cardinals improved to an impressive 10-1 overall record and 7-1 in the ACC standings. Louisville displayed their offensive firepower, racking up a total of 470 yards, including 308 through the air and 162 on the ground.

Louisville comes into the game with a 9-1 record after a thrilling 31-24 comeback victory over Virginia last week. Isaac Guerendo’s 73-yard touchdown run with three minutes remaining sealed the win for the Cardinals. Despite overcoming a 14-0 halftime deficit, Virginia couldn’t hold on as Louisville tied the game with a 52-yard touchdown pass to Ahmari Huggins-Bruce.

South Carolina has had a mixed bag of results this season, with their wins characterized by high-scoring performances. They have averaged an impressive 42.3 points per game in their victories. On the flip side, in five of their six losses, they have failed to score more than 20 points. The only exception was a close 41-39 defeat to Florida.

The SEC Championship Game is set and some programs are still fighting for a bowl game.

Stephanie Grant, director of events and basketball operations at ESPN Events, expressed excitement about bringing this signature event back to Atlanta, stating, “State Farm Arena is a world-class facility and a perfect venue for this event considering State Farm’s partnership in the Champions Classic since its inception.” Trey Feazell, Executive Vice President of Arena Programming for State Farm Arena, also emphasized the success and tradition of the participating schools and the excitement of hosting this one-day college basketball showcase.

Despite their recent success, the Cardinals have struggled against the Hurricanes in Miami, going 0-6-1 all-time on the road. However, head coach Jeff Brohm is optimistic about his team’s chances and sees this game as a great opportunity to break that streak.
