She played a pivotal role in leading the UK offense to a .372 hitting percentage in two matches combined, registering 12.88 assists per set during the week. Grome’s standout performance included 55 assists against Texas A&M and 48 assists against Mizzou. She also showcased her defensive skills with six digs in each match, and her decision-making and leadership were instrumental in the Wildcats’ three total sets where they hit .500 or above as a team.

The Wildcats enter this contest on a high note after a dominant performance against Stonehill, where they cruised to a 101-67 victory. A standout player for Kentucky in that game was freshman sensation Reed Sheppard. The London native was on fire, making nine out of ten shots from the field, including an impressive seven out of eight from beyond the arc. Sheppard finished the game with a game-high 25 points, along with seven assists, three steals, three rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Kentucky came into the game desperately needing to regain some of the lost momentum. South Carolina is a bad football team with a dorky coach but once again the Wildcats beat themselves. Poorly coached teams find ways to lose football games and once again Kentucky did just that.

Kentucky had a strong start to the second half, with a nine-play, 92-yard scoring drive that ended in Ray Davis’ 31-yard rush. This impressive drive gave Kentucky a 14-10 lead in the third quarter. The Wildcats’ defense also stepped up, forcing punts on eight of South Carolina’s final nine possessions.
