In a remarkable display of skill and talent, the team claimed the second-place spot in both events. This achievement further establishes Kentucky’s reputation as a powerhouse in the dance community.

Graduate Kennedy Lightner set a new school record in the men’s 300 meters, finishing with a time of 32.45 seconds, surpassing Dwight St. Hilliaire’s 2021 record of 32.70 seconds. Lightner’s impressive performance took place in the same city where Hilliaire had set the previous record.

The UCA Game Day competition focuses on the flawless execution of game day materials and cheers, which include the school’s iconic fight song and sideline chants. Kentucky’s cheerleaders demonstrated their unwavering dedication and passion as they flawlessly executed their routines, impressing both the judges and the audience.

In the morning session, several Wildcats posted strong performances. Frericks and Caroline Benda placed second and third respectively in the 500 freestyle, each with season-best times. In the men’s 500 free, freshman Carson Hick finished second with a time of 4:24.43.

Heading into the finals, Kentucky entered in the third-place position, showing promise and determination. However, despite their best efforts, they were unable to surpass their ranking and claim a higher spot. Nevertheless, their performance was nothing short of exceptional.
