In their two exhibition games, the Cardinals had mixed results, with a dominant 91-50 victory over Simmons College but a narrow 71-68 defeat to Kentucky Wesleyan. Meanwhile, UMBC had a strong showing last season with an 18-14 record but fell to Fordham 79-75 in their lone exhibition game this year. This will be the first meeting between Louisville and the Retrievers, making UMBC the only new opponent on the Cardinals’ schedule for this season.

Louisville, KY – University of Louisville softball coach Holly Aprile has announced the signing of six talented recruits who will join the Cardinals in the fall of 2024. The new additions include Riley Janda, Mikayla Milby, Taylor Monroe, Madison Pickens, Ryann Sanders, and Jordan Williams.

On December 2, the Cardinals will start the season with a split between the Commonwealth College Opener in Louisville and the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Massachusetts. After the new year, competition will resume with the Rod McCravy Memorial Invite on January 12-13 and the Bellarmine Open on January 19. The team will then host the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on January 26-27.
