Starting the match with a comfortable 20-point lead in smallbore, Kentucky held on to their advantage and also emerged victorious in the air rifle event. Their aggregate score of 4732 is the second-highest team score of the season. Leading the way for the Wildcats, Sofia Ceccarello secured top spot in smallbore with a score of 591 and clinched the aggregate honors with a total score of 1188. Emmie Sellers showcased her skills by achieving a career-high-tying score of 598 in the air rifle event.

In the morning session, several Wildcats posted strong performances. Frericks and Caroline Benda placed second and third respectively in the 500 freestyle, each with season-best times. In the men’s 500 free, freshman Carson Hick finished second with a time of 4:24.43.

She stated, “To see her cut, make layups, make plays and be aggressive, that’s what we’re going to need from her.”

UK Athletics Maintains Impressive GPA Streak with 23rd Consecutive 3.0 Semester
This marks the second-highest GPA for a semester in the history of UK Athletics, just shy of the record set in the spring of 2020. The GPA of 3.534 achieved in the spring of 2020, which was aided by the pass/fail policy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, exceeded the previous record set in spring 2014.
