The Blink Outdoor (3rd Gen) is a top-of-the-line security camera that is perfect for those who prioritize reliability, high-quality video, and easy installation. I have these on my primary residence and also on my rental. I had originally been using Simply Safe but didn’t like that when the alarm went off that it took hours for the authorities to show up. So, I decided, since it is going to take so long then why not just have a good system in place that is going to record everything. If someone breaks in the cameras keep running and I’ll call the authorities myself.
I was turned on to these 3 years ago by a friend that swears by them. So I thought I’d give them a shot.
They are super easy to set up. Anyone with basic knowledge of a smart phone can easily set these up in minutes. It took me more time to get them angled properly and installed in the proper areas than it did to configure the cameras with the app. It’s really a no brainer.
Also, since these connect via wifi, the range on the outdoor cameras is incredible. I have a double lot and I have one camera all the way at the back of my property and it still connects to wifi without any issue. And, even the squirrels coming down the tree during the day sets it off.
This camera boasts impressive features such as weather resistance, HD video quality, motion detection, and wireless capabilities that make it a great choice for outdoor use.
One of the most noteworthy features of the Blink Outdoor (3rd Gen) is its exceptional weather resistance. (My system consists of 4 outside on my primary house and two exterior on my rental.) This camera is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, rain, snow, and even dust. This makes it a reliable option for outdoor use, especially in areas with harsh weather conditions. Furthermore, the camera’s water-resistant design ensures that it will continue to function even in rainy weather.
The camera’s video quality is also impressive. It offers 1080p HD video with infrared night vision, ensuring that your footage is clear and detailed even in low-light conditions. Additionally, the camera has a wide viewing angle of 110 degrees, allowing you to capture a large area with just one camera. You can adjust the camera’s settings to ensure you get the best possible footage.
The Blink Outdoor (3rd Gen) is also equipped with advanced motion detection. This feature allows the camera to start recording as soon as it detects motion in its field of view. The motion detection sensitivity can be adjusted to suit your needs, and you can even set up custom activity zones to reduce false alerts. These features make the Blink Outdoor (3rd Gen) a highly effective tool for detecting potential intruders or other unusual activity.
Another key feature of the Blink Outdoor (3rd Gen) is its wireless capabilities. The camera runs on two AA lithium batteries, which can last up to two years before needing to be replaced. In the three years I’ve had mine installed I’ve only replaced the batteries one time. This makes it easy to install the camera in any location without the need for wires or cables. The wireless design also means that the camera is easily portable, making it an excellent choice for those who may need to move the camera around their property.
Finally, the Blink Outdoor (3rd Gen) offers easy integration with other smart home devices. It works with Amazon Alexa, allowing you to control the camera with your voice, and it can also be connected to other Blink cameras for a comprehensive security system. The Blink Home Monitor app also provides an intuitive and user-friendly interface, allowing you to easily access and manage your camera’s footage from anywhere.
Overall, the Blink Outdoor (3rd Gen) is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality outdoor security camera. Its weather resistance, easy installation, and wireless capabilities make it an ideal option for anyone who wants to keep their home or rental property secure. Additionally, its advanced motion detection and excellent video quality ensure that you’ll always have clear and detailed footage to review.
I like them and use them on my rental and my primary residence. Highly recommend.
