On Wednesday night, the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team missed a golden opportunity to secure the 3rd seed in the SEC Tournament as they were unable to beat the Vanderbilt Commodores and came up short 88-86. Consequently, their tournament seeding now ranges from 3rd, with a double-bye, to 5th, requiring them to play on Thursday.
With the regular season concluding on Saturday against Arkansas, the Cats’ tournament seeding scenarios are worth monitoring. Kentucky can secure the 3rd seed by winning against the Arkansas Razorbacks, which will give them a double-bye and the late game on Friday night.
However, if Kentucky fails to beat Arkansas, their seed will depend on the outcomes of the Missouri Tigers vs. Ole Miss Rebels and Auburn Tigers vs. Tennessee Volunteers games.
SEC tournament seeding scenarios:
On Saturday, if Kentuckys wins vs Arkansas they should have a #3 Seed
If Kentucky loses vs Arkansas and Missouri wins + Tennessee loses their game #4 seed
If Kentucky loses their game, Missouri wins their game, Tennessee wins their game then they’ll likely have a #5 seed and play on Thursday.
