The Kentucky cheerleading squad is gearing up for the Universal Cheer Association (UCA) national championships in Orlando, with the competition set to kick off on Friday. This talented squad will be representing UK in two separate competitions over the course of the event.
First on the agenda is the Division 1A Game Day competition, in which Kentucky will be competing at 2:19 PM on Friday afternoon. The finals for this competition will take place later that evening, with the winners being announced late into the night.
Onto the main event, Kentucky will take the stage in the traditional Division IA large coed division on Saturday at 12:01 PM. This is a division that UK has dominated, securing an incredible 24 national titles in the past. The finals for this division will be held on Sunday, and the winners will be announced on Sunday evening.
It’s worth noting that Kentucky’s 24 UCA national titles are more than any other school has achieved combined. However, the squad faced a setback in 2022, finishing in second place in the large coed division. This year, they will undoubtedly be aiming to reclaim their position at the top of the podium.
As the countdown to the UCA national championships begins, the Kentucky cheerleading squad is determined and focused, eager to showcase their skill and precision on the biggest stage in cheerleading.
