UK Dance Team Set to Compete in UDA National Competition

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky dance team is gearing up for the upcoming 2024 Universal Dance Association national championships in Orlando. The team’s performances will kick off on Friday, with their first appearance in the game day division at approximately 9:52 a.m. ET. The finals for the game day category will be held later in the evening, and the champion will be announced that night.

On Saturday, the talented dancers from Kentucky will take the stage again, this time in the hip hop portion of the competition at around 2:09 p.m. ET. The finals for the hip hop division will be held on Sunday evening, and the final awards will follow the conclusion of the competition.

In the previous year, Kentucky’s dance team achieved a respectable fifth-place finish in the game day category. They also placed sixth in the same division back in 2022. This year, they are determined to put on a stellar performance and aim for a higher ranking.

The UK Dance Team is led by head coach Dawn Walters, who has been at the helm of the program for an impressive 15 seasons. Under her guidance, the team has showcased their incredible talent and dedication to the art of dance. As they head into the national championships, Walters and her dancers are prepared to give it their all and leave a lasting impression on the judges and audience alike.
