Kentucky Track and Field will be participating in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships from June 7 to June 10 in Austin, Texas. The nineteen Wildcats – nine women, and ten men – qualified for the NCAA finals. They earned their place in the finals after finishing in the top twelve of their respective individual and relay events at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships over Memorial Day weekend in Jacksonville, Florida. The men will compete on Wednesday and Friday, while the women will compete on Thursday and Saturday. The first two days of the competition are prelim days for the running events, while field events will be final.
The Kentucky Track and Field team has been preparing for this competition for months. Keaton Daniel will be competing in the men’s pole vault, Jordan Turner in men’s long jump, Josh Sobota in men’s shot put, Brian Faust, and Wayne Lawrence Jr. in men’s 400m, Kennedy Lightner in men’s 200m, and the men’s 4×400 Meter Relay will feature Wayne Lawrence Jr., Brian Faust, Justin Swann, Kennedy Lightner, Brandon Miller, and Brandon Nyandoro.
The women’s team includes Shadajah Ballard in the 4×100 meter relay, Yasmin Brooks in 4×400, Anthaya Charlton in the 100m and 4×100 meter relay, Karimah Davis in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4×400m, Tamiia Fuller in 4×100 and 4×400, Dajour Miles in 4×400, Megan Moss in 4×400, Victoria Perrow in 4×100, and Masai Russell in 100H, 400H, 4×100, and 4×400.
