The annual Winter Cup, along with the Nastia Liukin Cup and Elite Team Cup, hosted by USA Gymnastics, is scheduled to take place from February 24 to 26 at Louisville’s Freedom Hall, located within the Kentucky Exposition Center. Although traditionally a men’s event, women’s gymnastics has recently taken the spotlight with Jordan Chiles becoming the first women’s division champion in 2021 and Konnor McClain claiming the title in the previous season. Vitaliy Guimaraes and several Olympians such as Jake Dalton, Sam Mikulak, and Yul Moldauer have also emerged as all-around champions.
This year’s Winter Cup will coincide with the annual Nastia Liukin Cup, where top Level 10 female athletes will showcase their skills, and the Elite Team Cup, a regional team competition that features the nation’s best junior male gymnasts. Jamison Sears, last year’s Nastia Liukin Cup senior division co-champion, has secured her spot in the 2023 lineup and will aim to defend her title. Meanwhile, Region 1, consisting of Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada, seeks to maintain their winning momentum after ending Region 3’s six-year unbeaten streak in 2022. Tickets are now available for purchase.
