Van Lith Continues Stacking Up Post Season Awards

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced that University of Louisville junior guard Hailey Van Lith has been named an Honorable Mention All-American, adding to her growing list of awards. She was also named an Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators. The Associated Press had also named her an honorable mention All-American.

With an average of 19.2 points per game, Van Lith is the team’s leading scorer and also averages 3.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. She is among the elite Power Five players, alongside Caitlin Clark, who have recorded a minimum of 19 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game in the current season.

Van Lith has received several accolades, including being named first team All-ACC for the second year in a row, being selected to the ACC first team All-Tournament, and being recognized as a finalist for the prestigious Drysdale Award for the country’s top shooting guard.

Van Lith’s is 17th nationally in total points scored with 634, 18th in free throw percentage at 88.4%, 22nd in field goals made with 223, 23rd in minutes per game with an average of 36.85, and 28th in points per game. She has scored in double figures in 31 out of 33 games this season and has scored 20 or more points in 16 games this year.

Van Lith and the Lady Cardinals return to action this weekend when they travel to Seattle to play Ole Miss in the Sweet 16. Game time is set for 10pm EST and you can catch the game on ESPN.
