The Kentucky women’s tennis team is ready to hit the road for ITA Kickoff Weekend in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Wildcats, ranked No. 3, will face off against No. 2 Charlotte in their first matchup of the tournament. The game will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. EST at the Cone-Kenfield indoor courts at the Chewning Tennis Center.
Following their game against Charlotte, the Wildcats will compete in the Carolina Regional on Saturday. They will face either UNC or Oregon, depending on the outcome of Friday’s games. This will be the first time this season that the Wildcats will play away from home.
The Wildcats have had a strong start to their 2024 spring season, winning all three of their games at home. They defeated ETSU, 5-2, Miami (Ohio), 7-0, and Penn State, 4-1. These victories mark the first wins for first-year head coach Shelley Jaudon and her staff.
The 2024 squad includes returning players Lizzy Stevens, Makayla Mills, Ellie Eades, Lidia Gonzalez, Maialen Morante, Zoe Hammond, and Ellie Myers. They will be joined by newcomer Julia Zhu, who will be making her debut as a Wildcat.
