In a thrilling start to the 2024 meet slate, Raena Worley, a fifth-year senior from Kentucky, has been named Southeastern Conference Co-Gymnast of the Week. Worley shares this prestigious honor with Alabama’s Luisa Blanco. This recognition comes after Worley secured her 22nd All-Around title of her career with a cumulative score of 39.650.

Kentucky’s head coach, Tim Garrison, expressed his delight at seeing Worley receive this accolade. He emphasized how Worley’s impact on the team goes far beyond her competitive greatness, highlighting her importance as a leader and a positive force in the gym.

Worley’s impressive performance began on the uneven bars, where she obtained a score of 9.925, securing her 10th individual win on this apparatus. In the second rotation, she showcased her skills on the vault, earning a score of 9.875, tying for second place overall. On the balance beam, Worley achieved a score of 9.900, tying for second place once again. Prior to her superb performance on the beam, she tied with her teammate Creslyn Brose for a victory on the floor exercise, scoring an impressive 9.950. This win increased her career victories on that event to a total of 18.

Coach Garrison spoke highly of Worley, emphasizing her love for the sport, her team, and her ability to bring positivity to the gym every day. He expressed his pride in being a part of her journey and congratulated her on this accomplishment.
