Louisville Cardinals softball pitcher Alyssa Zabala has been selected to join the Manatee Impact team in the Florida Gulf Coast League. Zabala, a right-handed pitcher from Miami, Florida, had an impressive rookie season with the Cardinals, leading her team to an NCAA regional appearance. Her performance included 14 wins and team-high 94 strikeouts in 121 innings pitched. The ACC All-Freshmen team honoree is set to make her debut with the Impact on June 15th against the Bradenton Slice.
The Florida Gulf Coast League (FGCL) is the top summer collegiate softball organization in the country, featuring a 25-game schedule, all-star event, and playoff. The league, made up of collegiate athletes from various NCAA divisions and conferences of collegiate softball across the United States, connects top talent with professional exposure.
