On Monday, the SEC revealed the awards for the 2022-23 regular season, with Kentucky basketball players receiving recognition. One of them is Antonio Reeves, the team’s senior guard, who was named Co-Sixth Man of the Year by SEC coaches along with Jahvon Quinerly from Alabama. Reeves is known for his sharpshooting skills, which have helped him average 14.2 points per game this season.
Aside from Reeves, three other Kentucky players also received SEC honors. Oscar Tshiebwe was named First Team All-SEC, while Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston were both selected for the SEC Freshman Team.
Antonio Reeves transferred to Kentucky from Illinois State, where he played for three seasons. He is originally from Chicago and attended Simeon Career Academy, a well-known high school basketball program. Reeves was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team during his sophomore year at Illinois State, averaging 16.6 points per game. He chose to transfer to Kentucky for his final year of college eligibility to play for head coach John Calipari and compete at a higher level in the SEC.
