The University of Louisville men’s golf team has a lot to celebrate lately. Three of their players, Max Kennedy, Jiri Zuska, and Sebastian Moss, have been named to the NCAA Division I PING Midwest All-Region Team. This recognition comes after the team’s third-consecutive regional appearance, further highlighting the players’ performances throughout the season.
Max Kennedy, a junior, had an exceptional season and led the Cardinals with a 71.30 stroke average, which is the sixth-best mark in the Louisville school history. He earned the All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree and recorded seven-straight top-10 finishes. His first collegiate win at the Aggie Invitational was an accomplishment that contributed to his postseason accolades. Kennedy was also selected to play on the Walker Cup’s International Team, which will compete next month. Kennedy’s performance was impressive and undoubtedly contributed significantly to UL’s success this season.
Jiri Zuska, the senior player, finished his career by being named to the All-League honors. He registered the ninth-best stroke average in school history and finished the year with three consecutive finishes in the top 10. Zuska’s impressive performance during the season helped him place tied for 11th at the Morgan Hill Regional and finish his UL athletic career strong.
Finally, Sebastian Moss, a sophomore, had a solid 71.72 stroke average and had five top-10 finishes during the 2022-23 season. In his first regional appearance, Moss tied for 17th after carding a 3-over-par 219. As a sophomore, Moss has shown significant promise and ability that will help his team with future accomplishments.
Overall, the UL men’s golf team and players demonstrated outstanding performances this year. The recognition of Kennedy, Zuska, and Moss is a testament to their skill and dedication to the sport. This achievement is a reflection of the team’s talent and hard work, and the future looks bright for these players and the UL men’s golf team.
