The University of Louisville men recently participated in a four-day swimming and diving championship in Minneapolis. Unfortunately, they finished 13th overall. However, they had some standout performances from their athletes.

One of Louisville’s athletes, Denis Petrashov, won the 200 breaststroke consolation final with a time of 1:51.23, an improvement from his prelim time. Leon Marchand from Arizona State won the event with a record-breaking time of 1:46.91, which was an impressive feat.

Freshman diver Thomas Dowling also made his NCAA debut during the event and scored 238 points on the platform, showing great potential for the future.

In addition, Louisville’s 400 free relay team consisting of Michael Eastman, Guy Brooks, Dalton Lowe, and Abdelrahman El-Araby took second place in their heat with a time of 2:48.93 and 11th place overall. However, Florida claimed the top spot with an NCAA record-breaking time of 2:44.07.

Overall, California University won the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, claiming their eighth title. They were followed by Arizona State, Texas, and Florida as the top four trophy winners. Nevertheless, the athletes from the University of Louisville should be commended for their hard work and effort during the championships.
