The University of Louisville track & field teams are gearing up for their next competition, the Bellarmine Open, which will be held at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville on Friday, Jan. 19. The meet will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the women’s long jump, men’s pole vault, and men’s shot put events. Track events will commence at 10:30 a.m. with the men’s distance medley relay.
This will be the third consecutive home meet for the Cardinals as they kick off their season. Last weekend, they showcased their talents at the Rod McCravy Memorial.
In a spectacular performance, Jayden Ulrich earned the ACC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week award for her performance in the women’s shot put. Ulrich is the fourth Louisville athlete to be recognized by the conference this season.
The men’s long jump at the Rod McCravy Memorial also witnessed outstanding performances from Louisville’s Jake Burkey and Jeremiah Willis. Both athletes landed marks that currently rank among the top-10 nationally.
This weekend, the Cardinals will field a strong team, headlined by All-American transfer Noah Koch, who recently joined the team from Indiana. Joining him will be two of the most successful student athletes in Louisville’s history, Joe Delgado and Gabriela Leon, who will both be competing unattached.
