It’s down to the wire for the Kentucky Wildcats mens basketball team but don’t hit the panic button yet. The Cats can still get some momentum going into the SEC tourney if they can get a win against Arkansas.
The Kentucky Wildcats, 20-10, took a hard loss to Vandy on Senior Night last Wednesday at Rupp. Now the Cats are on the prowl and looking for redemption against an Arkansas team that has already handed the Cats a loss earlier this season. That loss was on February 7th and the Hogs were on fire, shooting 72% in the second half and ultimately bringing home an 88-73 win.
While Cason Wallace knocked down 24 for the Cats in that game, he may not be ready to today after he went down with an injury in the game against Vandy. His status is still up in the air as of writing this.
Wildcats Assistant Coach Bruiser Flint addressed Wallaces’ situation yesterday.
“He’s just been getting treatment, and we’ll see how it goes,” Flint said. “We’re going to practice this afternoon so we’ll see how it is.”
He’s likely a game time decision and one that they Cats really need to finish out the season strong before heading into the SEC tournament.
You can see an analysis of his injury here.
Kentucky is sitting at the #3 spot in the SEC. With a win today that would put them as a #3 seed in the SEC tournament.
The Cats need this one bad today. If for nothing else than to end the season on a high note.
Tipoff for todays game is at 2pm EST and the game is being shown on CBS.
