We’re getting down to the end of the season with plenty on the line for a bunch of teams around the Commonwealth. As usual if there is a story you want to highlight with one of these programs let us know in the comments.
Western Kentucky Hilltoppers
The Tops have not played since last week’s edition and still sit 4-4 overall and 2-2 in CUSA. They are still alive for the CUSA Title game but they need to win out. WKU will head to the Sun Bowl in El Paso this Saturday to take on UTEP. The game kicks off at 9pm ET and can be streamed on ESPN+.
Eastern Kentucky Colonels
The Colonels left the state of Utah with a 34-30 win over Utah Tech. Parker McKinney threw for 322 yards and 3 TD while RB Joshua Carter rushed for 125 yards and added another TD on the ground. EKU is back to 4-4 but is still undefeated in UAC play at 3-0.
This Saturday the Colonels have a huge game with 17th ranked Austin Peay. The game is at Roy Kidd Stadium in Richmond, KY and kicks off at 5pm ET. If you can’t make it to the stadium the game can be streamed on ESPN+.
Murray State Racers
The Racers went up to the Fargodome and lost 38-6 to 11th ranked North Dakota State. Not much positive happened for Murray as they failed to score a single TD. They are now 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Things remain tough for Murray State as 15th ranked North Dakota comes to Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray, KY. The game kicks off at 2pm ET but if you can’t make it to the stadium it can also be streamed on ESPN+.
Morehead State Eagles
Morehead traveled all the way to San Diego and lost a close one 17-11. Despite trailing 14-3 the Eagles had a chance to win it late but QB Carter Cravens tossed an INT on the last play of the game. Morehead is now 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the Pioneer Conference.
They do return home this weekend and take on a decent Butler team. The game kicks off at 2pm ET at Jayne Stadium in Morehead, KY. If you can’t make it to the stadium the game can also be streamed on ESPN+.
Kentucky State Thorobreds
Kentucky State held on to beat Morehouse College 23-21 on the road. RB Isaiah Saleem rushed for 102 yards and 1 TD. Defensively, KSU was led by freshmen LB Dontavius Broadnax who led the way 5 total tackles, 3 TFL, 1 FF, and 1 INT. The Thorobreds improved to 3-6 overall and 2-5 in the SIAC.
Kentucky State will close out their season at home against Central State. The game kicks off at noon ET at Alumni Stadium in Frankfort, KY. The game will also be streamed on ESPN+ if you can’t make it to the stadium.
Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers
KWC lost at home to Northwood 28-13. Former Etown star Kam Sherrard rushed for 117 yards and 1 TD but it wasn’t enough as the Panthers fall to 3-6 overall and 2-5 in the GMAC.
Kentucky Wesleyan heads back out on the road this week to take on Lake Erie College. The game kicks off at 6:30pm ET and can be streamed here.
Thomas More Saints
Thomas More lost their third straight game after losing on the road to Ashland 28-20. QB Rae’Von Vaden (from Moore HS) passed 183 yards and 2 TD while also rushing for another 45 yards. The loss drops the Saints to 4-5 on the season and 3-4 in the GMAC.
Thomas More will stay on the road this week and travel to Michigan to take on Northwood. The game kicks at 1pm ET and a stream can be found here.
Centre College Colonels
Centre was back at home and won their third straight game over Sewanee 54-22. The Colonels used a 20-point 3rd quarter to push the lead to 40-7 and were never really threatened. QB Jack Gohmann (Lexington Catholic HS) threw 3 TD and led a Centre offense that put over 450 yards of offense. They are now back to .500 on the season at 4-4 and sit 4-2 in the SAA.
Center well head back on the road and head down to Arkansas to take on Hendrix. Game kicks off 1pm ET and a stream can be found here.
Campbellsville Tigers
Campbellsville lost a 41-38 shoot-out at home to Cumberlands this past week. The Tigers fell into a 31-13 hole in the 2nd quarter but scored twice in the final 90 seconds of the half to cut it to 31-26 at HT. Despite 382 passing yards and 5 TD from Jagger Gillis (Boyle County HS) Campbellsville couldn’t get over the hump. They are 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the Mid-South.
Campbellsville has their last home game of the season as they welcome 9th ranked Bethel to Finley Stadium. The game kicks off 2:30pm ET and a stream be found here.
Georgetown Tigers
The 8th ranked Tigers completely shut down a good Lindsey Wilson team at home and won 10-0. The Tiger defense only gave up 218 yards and kept a shut-out despite not forcing any turnovers. QB Gehrig Slunaker threw for 205 yards and threw for the lone TD of the game. They are now 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the Mid-South.
Georgetown will now head to Williamsburg to take on Cumberlands. The game kicks off 1:30pm ET and stream can be found here.
Cumberlands Patriots
Cumberlands went on the road and got a big win over long-time rival Campbellsville 41-38. RB Darius James rushed for 144 yards and 1 TD and the Patriot defense picked off 3 passes and taking one back for a TD. Cumberlands are now 6-3 overall and 2-3 in the Mid-South
Cumberlands will close out their season this weekend by hosting 8th ranked Georgetown. If the Patriots want any chance to make the post-season they probably need a convincing win here.
Pikeville Bears
Pikeville won their third straight game by beating Point 42-31. QB Lee Kirland threw for 432 yards and 5 TD to help the Bears outscore Point 25-7 in the 4th quarter to come from behind and win. They improved to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the AAC.
UPike will close out their season on the road to St. Andrews and a stream can be found here at noon ET. They still have a slim chance of making the post-season, but they’ll need to win this weekend and get some help.
Union College Bulldogs
Union lost on the road to 21st ranked Reinhardt 45-10. The game broke open in the 2nd quarter when Union cut the deficit to 14-10 and on the ensuing kickoff allowed an 81-yard return for a TD. The Bulldogs drop to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the AAC.
Union will head to Virginia to take on Bluefield this weekend. There appears to be no stream available.
Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders
The 11th ranked Raiders lost a tough one to a top 10 ranked Georgetown. The offense was unable to get anything going as they mustered just 218 yards and scored zero points. The defense held strong but it wasn’t enough and the post-season hopes took a blow. Lindsey Wilson is now 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-South.
Up next Lindsey Wilson will come back home to take on Cumberland (TN). The game kicks off at 2:30pm ET and can be streamed here if you can’t make it out to the stadium.
Kentucky Christian Knights
KCU lost at home to Bluefield 38-21. The Knights were led by former Moore HS standout Jamari Wilson with 134 rushing yards and 2 TD. KCU is now 1-8 on the season and 1-3 in the AAC.
Kentucky Christian will welcome 21st ranked Reinhardt this weekend for it’s last home game of the season. The game kicks off at noon ET in Grayson, KY.
