Getting to Know Kentucky’s Robert Dillingham…
Five-star McDonald’s All-Star recruit Robert Dillingham became a Wildcat on June 24, 2022, after a decommitment from N.C. State.
Dillingham (6’2″,165 lb), currently plays within the Overtime Elite Basketball League, for 16–20 year-olds, based in Atlanta, Georgia. Dillingham is the Rivals #7 ranked recruit, and averages 13.3 points, 4.8 assists, and 1.9 steals per Game. The Overtime Elite “Cold Hearts” Team features several sure fire future NBA stars with Dillingham averaging nearly 40% from three, and 78% from the foul line.
Dillingham is widely regarded as an excellent passer and excels at not only finding the open man, but also creating his own shots. With Rob’s offensive game already creative and sound, look for Cal to focus on defensive intensity from the 6’2″ playmaker. Kentucky Basketball strength and conditioning Coach Braden Welsh will build the physicality Dillingham needs to become more acclimated to the College Game.
Dillingham is regarded as a true College point guard. With incoming recruit D.J. Wagner not considered a true point guard, look for Dillingham and Wagner to mesh well together.
The addition of Dillingham, D.J. Wagner, Justin Edwards, Aaron Bradshaw, and Reed Sheppard make this recruiting class one the best the Wildcats have seen in year. Coach Calipari has said he couldn’t be more excited about this class.
If Dillinigham is truly a “blur and a bucket”, the recent past recalls another “bucket” from Kentucky history. He now plays for the Miami Heat, don’t you Tyler Herro?
