Hoeing and Miller Set as Main Attractions at 2024 Louisville Baseball Leadoff Dinner

Louisville, Kentucky – The University of Louisville’s baseball alumni, Bryan Hoeing and Bobby Miller, will be headlining the 2024 Leadoff Dinner presented by Republic Bank. The annual event is slated to take place on Friday, February 2, 2024, at The Galt House Hotel.

The distinguished guests for the 2024 Leadoff Dinner were among the record-breaking 14 Louisville baseball alumni who found themselves on MLB rosters throughout the 2023 season. Additionally, there were 45 former Cardinals who were assigned to professional teams at the conclusion of the year.

Bryan Hoeing, a right-handed pitcher for the Miami Marlins, made his Major League debut on August 20, 2022, after being selected in the seventh round of the 2019 draft. Hoeing has since appeared in 41 games, including 33 outings on the mound in 2023. Notably, he made seven starts this season, with his shining moment being a five-inning, no-hit performance against the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 24.

Bobby Miller, a right-handed pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, was the 29th overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft. He made his way to the big leagues on May 23, 2023, and impressed with one run allowed in five innings against the Atlanta Braves. Miller then solidified his spot in the Los Angeles rotation for the remainder of the season. Throughout his rookie year, he amassed an impressive 11-4 record with a 3.76 ERA and 119 strikeouts in 124.1 innings pitched.
