by Linus Binks

The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will be participating in the 2023 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam Women’s Basketball Tournament at the University of Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center from Nov. 23-25. This marks their return to St. Thomas after 5 years since their last appearance in 2018. They will be competing against NC State, Colorado, and Cincinnati, all three of which are NCAA Tournament teams for 2023. Kentucky defeated South Florida, UCLA, and North Carolina during their previous attendance and were declared as the winners for the tournament.

This is the Wildcats’ fourth time participating in the 24-year-old tournament, after stops in 2004, 2014, and 2018. Nine returners and three newcomers will make up their 12-person roster in 2022-23. Details about their full season schedule will be announced soon. The NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship is a women’s college basketball tournament organised annually by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
