Kentucky Women’s Tennis Returns Home for SEC Matches Against Georgia and Tennessee

Kentucky is hoping to secure its second conference win this season, having recently achieved victory against Mississippi State

After playing away from home for over a month, the University of Kentucky women’s tennis team (6-4, 1-1 SEC) is excited to return to the Hillary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Center for their upcoming matches. The Wildcats will face Southeastern Conference opponents, No. 3 Georgia (8-3, 2-0 SEC) and No. 16 Tennessee (9-2, 2-0 SEC), on Friday and Sunday, respectively. Additionally, they will play in-state rival Bellarmine (3-10) on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Kentucky is hoping to secure its second conference win this season, having recently achieved victory against Mississippi State, but suffered a tough loss at Ole Miss last weekend, bringing their conference record to 1-1. The Mississippi State win marked the team’s first SEC victory since April 8, 2021.

In the last season, the Wildcats were defeated by Georgia and Tennessee with scores of 0-4 in both matches. However, the team managed to beat Bellarmine with a 4-0 victory in their previous matchup in Lexington. The Friday match against Georgia will start at noon EST, followed by Sunday’s matchups against Tennessee and Bellarmine.
