In an exciting announcement, the United Soccer Coaches named Kentucky men’s soccer sophomore Max Miller to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s All-Southeast Region team. Miller, who served as captain for the Wildcats this season, had an impressive year, earning Sun Belt Conference Second Team recognition and a spot on TopDrawerSoccer’s Men’s Team of the Week in October.
Miller, a Lexington native, showcased his skills on the field as a defender and played a key role in the team’s success. He led the squad in assists with a total of seven, surpassing his freshman tally. Head coach Johan Cedergren spoke highly of Miller’s contributions, saying, “His leadership on and off the field has not gone unnoticed by myself and our staff, so it’s great to see it awarded in this way.”
Recognized as a standout player before the season even began, Miller was named to the preseason all-conference team. Throughout the 2023 season, he played in all 20 matches, starting in 20 of them. In addition to his impressive assist record, Miller also recorded 14 shots, with three of them on goal.
This recent honor is a testament to Miller’s hard work and dedication to the team. As the Wildcats’ captain, he exemplified leadership and played a crucial role in their success. The entire team and coaching staff are proud of his achievements.
