Reeves joins a group of front-runners for the prestigious honor. Players who didn’t make the late season list are still eligible for the Wooden Award National Ballot, which consists of the top 15 players who have proven their qualifications to their universities. The Wooden Award All American Team will be revealed during the “Elite Eight” week of the NCAA Tournament, and the winner will be announced following the tournament’s conclusion in April.

Reeves has been in scintillating form this season, displaying his shooting prowess with career-best percentages from the field (50.2%), 3-point range (43.1%), and the free-throw line (87.3%). His outstanding performances have included a stellar 30-point game against Louisville, followed by another impressive showing of 27 points against Illinois State. With the 30-point outing against Louisville, Reeves joins an elite group of players, including Oscar Tshiebwe, Malik Monk, and Jamal Murray, who have achieved multiple games with 30 or more points during the John Calipari era.

Antonio Reeves has been a standout player for the Wildcats, garnering recognition as the 2023 Southeastern Conference Co-Sixth Man of the Year. He currently leads the team in scoring, averaging an impressive 18.6 points per game in the 2023-24 season. Reeves has consistently achieved double-digit scoring in 13 out of the team’s 14 games, and he has even surpassed the 20-point mark in six games. Notably, he put up a remarkable 30 points against Louisville on December 21, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished by a Kentucky player since Tony Delk achieved the same in 1995.

Both teams are coming off impressive victories in their most recent outings. Louisville dominated Pepperdine with an 85-63 win, putting an end to their three-game losing streak. Kentucky, on the other hand, narrowly defeated North Carolina with an 87-83 victory in a top-25 neutral-site contest.

Leading the scoring for Kentucky this season is Antonio Reeves, averaging 17.1 points per game. Rob Dillingham follows closely behind with 14.4 points per game, while fellow freshmen Reed Sheppard and D.J. Wagner contribute 12.8 points per contest. Tre Mitchell has been a solid performer with 12.7 points and a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game. Aaron Bradshaw has also been making an impact, averaging 10.7 points over the three games he has played.
