The Louisville men’s basketball team, led by head coach Kenny Payne, is on the lookout for future stars in the Class of 2024. One prospect who has caught their eye is small forward Jalen Shelley from Frisco (Tex.) Prestonwood Christian.
Shelley recently announced that he has been offered a scholarship by the Cardinals and is already being courted by numerous high-major Division I programs with a total of 14 scholarship offers. He is considered a top prospect, ranked as high as No. 9 for small forwards and No. 23 nationally by On3’s rankings.
At 6-foot-7 and 175 pounds, Shelley is a force to be reckoned with on the court. He averaged 12.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game during his standout sophomore year with Frisco (Tex.) Lone Star before transferring to Prestonwood Christian over the summer. He continued to shine during the offseason, with standout performances at the Nike Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C. and the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.
