The University of Kentucky track and field program is gearing up to host the highly anticipated Rod McCravy Memorial Meet this weekend. The two-day event, taking place on Friday, January 12 and Saturday, January 13, will be held at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky. A total of 11 teams from all across the country will be participating in the competition.
Among the teams joining Kentucky are Alabama State, Butler, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Howard, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Miami (Ohio), Ohio State, Texas, and Tulane. It promises to be a fierce and exciting competition with top talent from each participating school.
The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center, located at 3029 Muhammad Ali Blvd. in Louisville, will serve as the venue for the meet. The action kicks off on Friday at 12 p.m. with the Men’s and Women’s High Jump. Running events will commence at 3 p.m. with the Women’s 60-meter dash first round. Saturday’s events will begin at 11 a.m. and include the Men’s Pole Vault, Men’s and Women’s Shot Put, and various running events. The Women’s 60-meter dash semifinals will start at 12 p.m.
Admission to the Rod McCravy Memorial is completely free for all spectators, so fans of track and field won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to witness some incredible performances. Parking is available in Lot A for a fee of $5 for each day of the event.
