Louisville, KY – University of Louisville cross country athletes Rhune Vanroose and Maddie Seaby are gearing up to represent their home countries in national cross country meets over the next two weekends.
Vanroose, a freshman from Buggenhout, Belgium, will be competing in the Belgian Cross Country Championships on Sunday, November 19th in Hulshout, Belgium. She will be racing in the junior women’s race, which covers a distance of 5620 meters. The meet serves as a chance for athletes to qualify for the European Cross Country Championships, which will be held in Brussels on December 10th. Vanroose has had a successful season so far, with a personal-best 6K time of 21:06.2 at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
Seaby, a native of Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada, will be competing in the Canadian Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 25th at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility in Ottawa. She will be racing in the U20 Women’s 6K race. Seaby has also had a strong season, scoring points for the Cardinals at all four events she participated in. Her personal-best time in the 6K is 20:51.5, achieved at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
