Transfer Portal: Skyy Clark

Skyy Clark, a former five-star guard who is set to enter the transfer portal, is expected to visit the University of Louisville on Tuesday, according to sources. The visit was confirmed by 247Sports national analyst Travis Branham, who reported that the recruitment of Clark is not expected to take long. In addition to Louisville, Arkansas has also expressed interest in Clark’s recruitment.

Clark left the Illinois team in January, citing his and his family’s well-being as his reason for leaving. Despite playing in only 13 games, Clark averaged seven points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, demonstrating his skills as a lead guard.

Prior to joining Illinois, Clark was a highly-ranked recruit who committed to DePaul in eighth grade, Kentucky during his junior year, and finally Illinois late into his senior year. He was once heralded as a five-star recruit in the Class of 2022 and established himself early in the class as one of the best guards in the country due to his skilled and crafty game, as well as his ability to score.

Clark’s visit to Louisville comes at a time when the Cardinals have already lost three players to the transfer portal. Despite this, Louisville has two signees and two commitments for the Class of 2023, making the addition of Clark a potential boost for the team. With multiple years of eligibility remaining, Clark is set to be one of the highest-rated lead guards available in the transfer portal, making him an attractive option for many teams in need of his skills.
