In an exciting announcement, University of Louisville Director of Athletics Josh Heird revealed on Friday that four talented administrators have been elevated to the position of Assistant Athletic Director at UofL.
Erika Fitzgerald, Andrew McClung, Dan Morrissey, and Keith Schobert have all demonstrated exceptional dedication and contribution within their respective roles, leading to their well-deserved promotions within the university.
Expressing his satisfaction with the appointments, Heird commented, “We are thrilled for Erika, Andrew, Dan, and Keith as they embark on their new roles in our athletic department. Each of them has made a direct impact on our overall success, enhancing both the student-athlete experience and the fan experience. We are excited to see them take on increased responsibilities as they progress in their careers. Their efforts will undoubtedly continue to elevate the University of Louisville.”
Erika Fitzgerald, who has been with UofL Athletics since her undergraduate years, previously served as the Director of Ticket Operations since 2012. In her new role as Assistant AD for Ticket Membership and Services, Fitzgerald oversees the service and operations team, ensuring fans receive top-notch customer service. She has played a pivotal role in developing a personalized membership hub to enhance fan engagement and retention. Additionally, Fitzgerald manages game day ticket operations for five ticketed sports, as well as ACC and NCAA postseason events. She is also the department’s liaison with Ticketmaster and other technology partners, ensuring members receive exceptional service and support.
Andrew McClung, with 20 years of experience at UofL, including 13 as a full-time employee, previously held the position of Director of Stadium & Facility Operations. In his new role as Assistant AD for Stadium & Facility Operations, McClung oversees the day-to-day operations of various athletic facilities, including stadiums, golf facilities, and academic centers. He manages staff, coordinates team practices and special events, serves as a liaison for visiting teams, and collaborates with ESPN, ACC, and other broadcast partners to ensure smooth execution of stadium operations. McClung is also responsible for facility maintenance and sustainability initiatives.
Dan Morrissey, with six years of experience in the athletic department, has transitioned from the Director of Compliance to the role of Assistant AD for Compliance. Morrissey’s responsibilities encompass day-to-day monitoring and administration of several compliance areas, including recruiting, playing seasons, personnel, amateurism, and rules education. He works closely with men’s and women’s basketball and football programs, provides guidance on NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness), and assists with national governance and legislation. Morrissey previously worked at the University of Maine as the Director of Compliance.
Keith Schobert, who joined UofL in 2020, has over 18 years of experience in facility and event management. Formerly the Director of Arena & Facility Operations, Schobert now serves as the Assistant AD for Arena & Facility Operations. His responsibilities include liaising with ASM-Global staff at the KFC Yum! Center and the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning facility for UofL Athletics events. Schobert manages game operations, schedules, staffing plans, and facility usage adherence. He also oversees multiple athletic facilities and serves as the primary game operations manager for men’s basketball games. Schobert has a wealth of experience in tournament management, having recently fulfilled the role of tournament manager for the 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball South Regional.
The promotions of Fitzgerald, McClung, Morrissey, and Schobert reflect their significant contributions to UofL Athletics. As they assume their new roles, they will undoubtedly continue to enhance the university’s athletic programs and make a positive impact on the overall experience for student-athletes and fans alike.
